Serge Prengel

Serge Prengel, LMHC, is a therapist in private practice and a co-founder of the Integrative Focusing Therapy training program.

He was trained in Focusing, Core Energetics, and Somatic Experiencing. His work also draws from Systems-Centered theory.

Serge has led workshops in a variety of venues and conferences, such as Focusing, Somatic Experiencing, USABP, etc. He fosters a safe and stimulating space for groups to creatively explore our embodied process.

Serge’s focus on mindfulness and integration is reflected in his book: The Proactive Twelve Steps: A Mindful Program for Lasting Change.

He is also the co-editor of Defining Moments For Therapists and author of the whimsical Bedtime Stories For Your Inner Child.

Over the years, Serge has been exploring the similarities and differences between different approaches to better understand how change happens. He has conducted over 200 interviews with therapists, Focusers, researchers, and mindfulness practitioners. For instance, see the Active Pause podcast and the Focusing Conversations series.
