Embodied object relations & the process of mindful change

The New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) presents a two-hour workshop with Serge Prengel.

This workshop will help you add more of an embodied, experiential dimension to your clinical work. It will provide simple tools to deepen the client’s process in a safe and respectful way, informed by neuroscience and a somatic approach to trauma.

This is an interactive and experiential workshop that includes a live demo with a volunteer.

Please bring a stress ball or a rolled-up sock or paper crumpled into a ball.

Serge Prengel, LMHC, is a therapist in private practice and a co-founder of the Integrative Focusing Therapy training program. He was trained in Focusing, Core Engergetics, and Somatic Experiencing. His
work also draws from Systems-Centered theory.
Serge’s focus on mindfulness and integration is reflected in his book: The Proactive Twelve Steps: A Mindful Program for Lasting Change. He is also the co-editor of Defining Moments For Therapists and author of the whimsical Bedtime Stories For Your Inner Child. Over the years, Serge has been exploring the similarities and differences
between different approaches to better understand how change happens. He has conducted over 200 interviews with therapists, Focusers, researchers, and mindfulness practitioners.
