Stages of Change model: Diclemente, Norcross & Prochaska's theory

James Prochaska, John Norcross and Carlo DiClemente developed a theory identifying 6 stages of changing.

Many people find this a useful roadmap in evaluating where they are in the process of making changes.

I put together a summary of the 6 stages identified in this theory. If you are familiar with Prochaska's theory, you will note that I have renamed the stages to give them names that (I believe) are more descriptive to the layman.

See: Six Stages Of Change. Note: It may take a few moments for the PDF to appear in your browser.

Please note that this model is different from the practical roadmap I describe elsewhere on this site as: Sustainable Resolutions: 3 steps for mindful, lasting change.
